I’m Biodegradable,
just like you!

Plastic-free compostable bag, safe and environmentally friendly.

Why should you choose biodegradable bags?

We are manufacturers. Wholesale and retail. We customize and advise on size and thickness.
First, for the environmental benefits compared to conventional plastic bags as they are designed to biodegrade naturally in a short time, thus avoiding accumulation in different ecosystems.

  • A biodegradable plastic bag is made from renewable raw materials of plant origin, such as cornstarch, potato starch or food waste.
  • Eco bags do not generate microplastics or toxic waste during their decomposition, and they become beneficial organic matter (compost fertilizer) for the soil.
  • Compostable cellophane bag have properties similar to polyethylene plastic: flexible, resistant and waterproof.
  • Plant-base packaging enhance your green brand image. The production of 100% compostable packaging bags generates less CO emissions compared to traditional plastic clear bags, which helps reduce the impact of climate change.
  • This plastic bag alternative comply with the regulation RD 293/2018, on reducing the consumption of plastic bags and are in the legislative inertia of the European Green Framework.
  • Suitable for food contact

Eco-friendly clear cellophane bags

Transparent bags offer an attractive and functional alternative in the field of sustainable packaging. These covers have the ability to clearly display content, making them popular in the textile industry and other markets.

Custom biodegradable bags

  • We help you in creativity, the design of your compostable bags with logo is an opportunity to include an ecological message.
  • We help you to define the size and thickness of the bag according to the use and proposed load.
  • Printing to 1 ink. The minimum order will depend on the bag size you request.
  • Request for samples: the importance of seeing to believe.

Certifications

  • Our compostable biodegradable bags are manufactured according to the European standard EN 13432 and have the OK INDUSTRIAL COMPOST certificate issued by TÜV AUSTRIA.
  • European regulations determine the conditions of degradation of the materials to be deposited in the organic container and basically regulate the maximum period of biodegradation and the non-existence of polluting chemical elements.
  • There is also the Home Compost certification that determines the degradation conditions in home composting.
  • Starch derivatives meet both requirements of industrial composting (Industrial compost) and home composting (Home compost) although they do not officially have both certifications.

Where do we buy compostable bags

  • We are manufacturers, and our strategy is based on the quality of biodegradable and compostable material.
  • We have a large variety of products that you can get as follows:For retail service, you can go to our online store, where you can choose between different types of bags and sizes.
  • For wholesale biodegradable and compostable bags you can ask us for rates.

How long does it take for a compostable bag to degrade?

  • If it is disposed of in the brown garbage can, such as compostable garbage bags, it will take about 3 weeks once the treatment at the industrial composting plant has started.
  • If you compost it at home, it will take a couple of months.
  • If someone throws it away in nature, it will biodegrade in between 1% and 4% of the time it would take a petrochemical plastic, or between 3 and 5 years, depending on local climatic factors.

What are compostable bags made of?

Biodegradable compostable garbage bags are usually made on the basis of vegetable starch.
The starch is extracted from organic waste and subsequently passed through a fermentation process and mixed with other biopolymers + natural additives…and is then ready to be processed like any other plastic material.
In short, they are made from natural resources.

In which container should compostable bags be recycled?

Compostable bags are disposed of in brown or organic containers.
Afterwards, it is transferred to a composting plant where it will be revalued into compost for the soil.
Due to a European directive, all EU municipalities are required to offer this solution.
(Remember to use the yellow packaging container for plastic bags that are not compostable or biodegradable.)

What is the difference between biodegradable and compostable?

Generally, people associate both concepts to sustainable qualities, but technically it is not entirely true and in many occasions the term biodegradable is used as a greenwashing method.
Everything that is compostable is also biodegradable… but not the other way around!
Biodegradation is the natural degradation process and is subject to the natural conditions of the place where the material is deposited.
Composting is an artificial process that favors bacterial conditions to rapidly break down matter. A process that has always been used by man to produce natural compost.
You have to realize that everything is biodegradable, since nature is able to degrade any material over time.
But time is what makes the difference in sustainability.
For example, an orange peel takes about 2 years to biodegrade in nature, a compostable bag 3 to 4 years, and a conventional plastic bag 200 to 400 years.
In compost, the orange peel and compostable bag will take 1 to 2 months, but the conventional plastic bag will not degrade.

How long does a compostable bag can last?

The shelf life of these eco-friendly bags depends on the thickness of the bag and the conditions in which it is stored.
Under normal conditions, without direct exposure to the sun and preserving from moisture, the shelf life of these materials is 18 months. From then on, they begin to lose mechanical properties.

How do you know if a bag is biodegradable?

Usually, because it is indicated on the bag, compostable and biodegradable, either in its printing or on its labelling.
A supplier that manufactures this type of eco bag displays a label referring to the regulation governing compostable materials: EN13432 Beware of bags that are not properly labelled.
You can also tell by the touch, it is much softer and if you smell it will notice that it does not smell of petrochemical plastic but…. licorice?
